Oh Hey!

My name is Patrick Eades and I’m the founder, foreman, and president of SALT Contracting & Construction. I hail from the west suburbs of Chicago, where I cut my teeth in the construction world. After graduating from Elmhurst University and working in logistics for a few years, I realized the desk life just wasn’t for me. I’m an active guy who thinks in three-dimensional shapes and spaces. (Even when I was little, my brain was constantly finding the angles and lines between the objects around me.) So it was a natural step for me to move into construction.

I started my training with some of the most skilled tradesmen in the Chicagoland area in 2011. After 4 years (basically in the time to get another college degree), it was time to break out on my own. Except these days, I’m building my family as well as my business. My wife, Sarah, and my two sons are the center of my world and have taught me so much about what it means to have a family.

The SALT Philosophy

At SALT, we believe that homes are created by the families that live in them; and that they should be SAFE, BEAUTIFUL, and FUNCTIONAL.

We believe in hard work, taking pride in our finished product, and providing quality craftsmanship to our customers.

We believe in a straightforward, no-nonsense approach in all we do.

We believe in community, being a good neighbor, and treating others with respect.

The SALT Story

The story behind the name.

For now, all you need to know, is that Sarah is the love of my life. She is my right-hand woman and the mother of my two beautiful sons. When we got married, people started saying we went together like Salt & Pepper (Sarah & Patrick). We even have a salt and pepper shaker collection from different trips and anniversaries.

She complements me in every way and it only made sense to name my business after her!

Our process

  1. Complimentary on-site consultation.

  2. Estimate / Bid provided.

  3. Scheduling
We are up-front that construction requires flexibility as there are very often unexpected challenges and hurdles, etc. Clear communication and transparency are two of SALT’s core values. If schedules have to shift, we let you know as quickly as possible to make sure your project does not become a pain for you. Because home renovations should be FUN.

  4. Build time!
We pride ourselves on keeping a clean and safe work-site. Dust control and floor-protection are paramount. We will also ensure that any unsafe conditions are mitigated at the end of each day and all power tools are put away for the safety of your family.

  5. Walk-through, final details (punch list) and project wrap-up.
